At the young age of eleven years old, I gave my life to Jesus Christ in a small Baptist Church out in the country. Over the next few years I learned more and more about my Savior, Jesus Christ! While attending Bible Summer Camp, at the age of sixteen, I heard a sermon preached on the scripture, Philippians 1:21 “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”. At the conclusion of that sermon I told God I would truly live for Him. Little did I know that God had great plans for my life. It was about six months after praying that prayer, that I knew without any doubt that God was calling me to be a preacher. Over the next few years I served the Lord with ups and downs, and preached whenever I was given an opportunity. On May 13th, eighteen days before my twenty-first birthday, I married my high school sweetheart Kristen Daniels. Not only did we attend the same high school, our families also attended the same church! After our marriage, Kristen and I moved about an hour and a half away to Greenville, NC where I served as a Youth Pastor. Three years had passed by, when we received word that the small church we grew up in lost their Pastor, and was quickly going under. This news deeply impacted my life. I was broken for the members of that church. However, on a much greater scale, I was broken for the community that was losing a good church.
After months of prayer and fasting, my wife and I knew what God wanted us to do. We saved up some money, rented a store front property, and on March 30th, 2010 Legacy Baptist Church opened the doors! Before we knew what happened, God had used us to start an Independent, Fundamental, Soul Winning, Bible Preaching Church! After only eight months, God provided us with our current property, which we now own free and clear. On April 22, 2011, God gave us a beautiful son, William. Nearly five years later God allowed us to have another son. Myles was born on January 14th, 2016. Our vision was and still is to have a local New Testament Church with true genuine worship.
